Artist: DA REAL SOUND feat. NIKITA CANDIS (RMXs by THE GREEN MAN, DANNY STYLES)
Title: CHANGE (BASSWERK 42)
Styles: Jungle, Soul, Hip Hop, Alternative
This new jungle anthem has already been played at many festivals and on the Ray Keith radio show, making the crowd freak out and ask...what's the name of that track... because it stands out!
Nikita Candis delivers a powerful vocal. She’s not only a great soul R&B singer - she also redefines how fast anyone can rap on jungle beats.
Da Real Sound (Errol "Remo Don" and Colin Grainge with Earl "Broadfinger" Francis) forms this into a fantastic jungle D&B track. This comes from a lot of experience.
Da Real Sound AKA D.R.S formed in 1990 with the idea of fusing Rave with all forms of Reggae. They had success in 1994 with the jungle tune “Everyman” Released on Rugged vinyl, this featured Lee Royal Levi, Stevie Hyper D and Kenny Ken.
Although continuing to work together they moved on to other projects. Releasing records on many labels big on the club scene of the ‘90s, such as Kickin records, Faze 2 and XL.
In 2016 they got back together to work on new tracks. Da Real Sound continues to experiment, they are currently recording more tracks inspired by a new generation of jungle and a new generation of analogue and digital recording techniques.
Following other Basswerk 2019 releases and collabs with artists like Digital and Navigator, The Green Man adds an alternative remix and worked closely with Da Real Sound on the release, including the mastering. TGM's Alternative Rmx adds speedy percussions and keeps it rather minimal, again aiming for both radio and club as well.
Besides DRS' own Jungle remix this EP also comes with a remix by Danny Styles, adding another level of D&B energy.
